We are looking for a Director of Software Applications to provide architectural leadership and project management skills for all healthcare-related software applications which work in concert with our Oracle ERP systems.

Supervising:

 

  • A team of several full-time professionals, plus external consulting resources.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with all stakeholders including the SVP of Clinical Operations, Directors of Clinical Reimbursement, VPs of Rehabilitation Services, the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Information Officer, CFO and others in Finance, IT and Operations to effectively assess all current clinical, billing and other healthcare applications and develop a strategy to rationalize and consolidate where necessary.
  • Ability to baseline, benchmark and improve operating efficiencies
  • Lead clinical and billing systems for main company and all associated companies. Over 9 different clinical, therapy and AL systems are in use including HealthMEDX, Casamba, Misys, Vigilan, CareTracker, SNO, Accuscan, PointRight and others. Pharmacy, Hospice and LTACH systems are also in scope.
  • Lead technical implementations
  • Provide leadership and architectural support of other ancillary software applications used, such as Smartlinx Solutions, Rescot Systems and Framework.
  • Perform business process engineering, including the development of revised process flow finalization, procedure documentation, and functionality and content integration. Project Management and Business Analysis conforming to SDLC standards and best practice.
  • Lead strategy and implementation for assessment and implementation of standards for EMR/EHR, MDS and eMAR systems.
  • Evaluate and manage internal and outsourced resources and ensure maximum efficiencies.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and previous experience in a large long term care or assisted living business office, with billing and reimbursement processes experience in a multi-facility company.
  • Knowledge of long term care clinical systems including EMR/HER, HER, Dietary, Hospice, ALF, ADL, MDS, Electronic ADLs, eMar/Tar, Physician Orders, Care Plans and Assessments.
  • Knowledge of long term care reporting and analytics, including key operational metrics.
  • Must have clinical systems experience.
  • Strong technological background and equally strong management, process and project management experience.
  • Experience with HealthMEDX or other LTC clinical systems is a big plus.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills – written and verbal required. Must be able to interface with all levels of staff and management. Relationship building and partnering is key.
  • Excellent organizational skills required and an ability to multitask while under pressure and provide creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Business Management, Healthcare (management), or Computer Sciences field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years healthcare IT systems experience with a focus on planning, managing, and implementing a wide variety of large-scale, complex clinical and  billing systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Project Management and Business Analysis experience is a core requirement for this role.  PMP and/or BA certifications a plus.

Job Overview:

“The perfect job seeker”

I have posted my open jobs to this blog for close to a year now. Have done all the right things as far as building my network, making myself accessible to job seekers, do my best to get back to every candidate that contacts me and just feel the need to interject some truth into what this “agency” recruiters thoughts are on the general state of the job market. First off…All the recruiters and wanna be career coaches saying the problem with job market, stop it…pick up a phone…talk to some job seekers and see what is really going on….we are in a candidate driven market…the people that clients want to hire already have jobs…people stay unemployed because they are either not very good at what they do…or they are terrible interviewers who can not articulate what they actually do, there are exceptions of course but as a whole…if you are not working right now…there is probably a reason why.

Job seekers are not using Twitter correctly to find jobs…today i had put my email address in a tweet and invited anyone looking for a tech job in NJ NY or PA to send me their resume…not one response…why? ill tell you why because job seekers are lazy, scared, and will not talk to an agency recruiter because they are holding out for the paper pushers in corporate HR to contact them directly.  God forbid someone takes some initiative to find a job…

GREAT CAREER MOVE not accepting my invitation on Linked IN feel free to hit the  doesn’t know button because you are gainfully employed right now or my personal favorite is you are protecting your network…you will never need a recruiter to help you in your job search, why should you grow your network? That would make sense.

This is going to be the first of many rants i go on to for really one purpose….to shake some sense into you so i can find you a job.  If you are reading this post and are turned off about what i have to say…too bad, go find a recruiter that will tell you how special you are..im not that guy.

Unix San Engineer FT in Philadelphia PA

POSITION PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Lead Systems Engineer and Director, Network Systems & Operations, this position is responsible for system administration primarily within the Unix environment and supports critical applications such as Lawson, Oracle/PeopleSoft, and IBM software and hardware. This position will also provide backup support for the database, Citrix, VMware and Microsoft environments.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Serves as supporting team member for all UNIX, Windows, Database, PeopleSoft and Lawson systems.
• Provides system administration coverage during the day time, after regular business hours, and holidays.
• Supports Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, preparation and testing for all critical systems noted within the Business Continuity Plan.
• Performs system maintenance, upgrades, and operating system and application patching as needed.
• Provides technical administration and monitoring coverage across all storage subsystems. Effectively works with network administrators to support and troubleshoot storage related issues.
• Assesses preliminary problem issues and effectively communicates them to the appropriate technical support team member and IT management.
• Processes jobs through the computer systems utilizing available documentation and controls and according to schedule, performs output distribution as required.
• Monitors computer systems, network servers, communication systems, and related equipment to ensure availability when required. These systems include multiple servers located in the Data Operations Center and Co-location Data Center.
• Records all hardware and software problems reported by staff in the problem tracking tool and refers incidents requiring escalated attention to the Lead Systems Engineer or Lead Network Engineer including IT management when appropriate.
• Supports installations and configurations while maintaining all releases of operating systems and applications without disrupting the production environment.
• Utilizes diagnostic and monitoring software to identify potential issues on a daily basis.
• Assists with developing automated scripts for batch processing and staff notification
• Maintains and manages the transfer of confidential data from third party vendors , adhering to HIPAA guidelines and The Board of Pensions security policies.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, BEHAVIORS & WORK HABITS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) preferred or equivalent related experience.
• Unix, Linux and SQL Server certifications a plus.
• Working knowledge and understanding of IBM DS4700 SAN and IBM N-Series Storage architectures.
