We are looking for a Director of Software Applications to provide architectural leadership and project management skills for all healthcare-related software applications which work in concert with our Oracle ERP systems.
Supervising:
- A team of several full-time professionals, plus external consulting resources.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with all stakeholders including the SVP of Clinical Operations, Directors of Clinical Reimbursement, VPs of Rehabilitation Services, the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Information Officer, CFO and others in Finance, IT and Operations to effectively assess all current clinical, billing and other healthcare applications and develop a strategy to rationalize and consolidate where necessary.
- Ability to baseline, benchmark and improve operating efficiencies
- Lead clinical and billing systems for main company and all associated companies. Over 9 different clinical, therapy and AL systems are in use including HealthMEDX, Casamba, Misys, Vigilan, CareTracker, SNO, Accuscan, PointRight and others. Pharmacy, Hospice and LTACH systems are also in scope.
- Lead technical implementations
- Provide leadership and architectural support of other ancillary software applications used, such as Smartlinx Solutions, Rescot Systems and Framework.
- Perform business process engineering, including the development of revised process flow finalization, procedure documentation, and functionality and content integration. Project Management and Business Analysis conforming to SDLC standards and best practice.
- Lead strategy and implementation for assessment and implementation of standards for EMR/EHR, MDS and eMAR systems.
- Evaluate and manage internal and outsourced resources and ensure maximum efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and previous experience in a large long term care or assisted living business office, with billing and reimbursement processes experience in a multi-facility company.
- Knowledge of long term care clinical systems including EMR/HER, HER, Dietary, Hospice, ALF, ADL, MDS, Electronic ADLs, eMar/Tar, Physician Orders, Care Plans and Assessments.
- Knowledge of long term care reporting and analytics, including key operational metrics.
- Must have clinical systems experience.
- Strong technological background and equally strong management, process and project management experience.
- Experience with HealthMEDX or other LTC clinical systems is a big plus.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills – written and verbal required. Must be able to interface with all levels of staff and management. Relationship building and partnering is key.
- Excellent organizational skills required and an ability to multitask while under pressure and provide creative solutions to complex problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Business Management, Healthcare (management), or Computer Sciences field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
- Minimum 5 years healthcare IT systems experience with a focus on planning, managing, and implementing a wide variety of large-scale, complex clinical and billing systems.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Project Management and Business Analysis experience is a core requirement for this role. PMP and/or BA certifications a plus.
